Glöcklerlauf folk costume parade at the lake Traunsee

On the 5th January 2012, the eve before the Three Wise Men Day, the "Glöcklerläufe", folk costume parades take place.

When the wintry spook of the rough winternights get lost in the festive christmas favours, there will be on the 5th of January, the eve of the 3 Kings Day, the dark demons will be banished: at the "Glöcklerläufe" folk costume parades in Ebensee, Traunkirchen, Altmünster und Gmunden a lot of small suns are illuminating in magical lightdances the darkness. the wight dressed shapes are running circles, figure eights and spirals and wear illuminated "Glöcklerkappen" on there heads: huge and highly artistic decorated structure made of wood and paper. The bells, hanging on the belts are ringing and awaking the nascent life.

In Gmunden
Starting at arround 6.00 p.m. with trompete players, 6.20 p.m. arrival of the 3 Wise Men at the town square with a boat coming over the lake. At arround 6.50 p.m. the "Glöcklerlauf" will take place

In Altmünster:
8.00 p.m. Glöcklerlauf on the market square

In Traunkirchen:
starting at 5.00 p.m. Glöcklerlauf
10 p.m. Meeting of the groups at hte Hotel Annerlhof

In Ebensee:
4.30 p.m. 3 Wise Men mass
6.00 p.m. Ebenseer Glöcklerlauf in town centre.
