In the first Austrian bicycle museum you can see the technical and cultural development of our "horse on two wheels" close - to touch!
From the first, 1818 built wooden impellers over the spectacular high wheels to the chrome-flashing weapon wheels of the turn of the century everything that drove in the good old times on the roads is exposed here- and each wheel has its own history to tell...
Also fans of motorized two and tricycle veterans do see a lot exhibits of their interest. Changing special expositions make it possible to admire rare exhibits from the early period of the motorcycle.

Finally, there are now bicycle museums also in Austria!
There are in Austria (beside the technical museum in Vienna, which had always a large fundus at historically extremely valuable wheels, although these remain hidden for the public usually) already four public museums, which are occupied mainly with the “horse on two wheels” - and several private collections. Starter was the museum "Rund ums Rad" in Altmünster, which already opened its gates in 1995. First meant only as unique special exhibition for 3 months, the interest of public induced the operators Walter Neumayer and Hannes Denzel to make the exhibition a permanent mechanism. Meanwhile is the existence of exhibits on approx.. 130 copies increased (all throughout ready to drive), which unfortunately threaten to blow up the premises. Besides find also in constantly changing rhythm approx.. 30 motorcycles here an accommodation, those in different special exhibitions presented will-will those place emergency has for the visitor in addition, an advantage: no shut-off positions prevent a view of technical details, and who once wants to know, as one feels on a high wheel, please very much: on a simulator one can swing into airy heights. Or does someone want to reconstruct, how the baron of Drais was anno 1817 on its impeller on the way? Beside the originals for looking at a replica of its machine stands ready for the sample ride....... ....see you in the museum!
