16th European Heritage Day in Gmunden and the Traunsee Holiday Region and Upper Austria
Visitors can explore historical and cultural monuments on the 16th European Heritage Day in Upper Austria themed "places of enjoyment". Visitors will have insight in more than 250 monuments on Sunday, 26th September 2010 in whole Austria. Upper Austria which participates with 114 events at the Heritage Day is anew ranked on the top. There will be 5 events in Gmunden and 1 in Altmünster.
Starting with Thursday, the 19th August 2010, there will be the possibility to rent E-bikes and do nice tours through the Traunsee Holiday Region and the Salzkammergutes area.
With nature protection areas and landscape protection areas, in which landscape and history combine to create unique scenes, Upper Austria is a guarantor of species richness in flora and fauna, clean water and high air quality.
Of course alos the Traunsee Holiday Region!
Ebensee has an incredibly great hiking and walking area. Unfortunately, due to weather influences some trails are affected, so they must be locked for a while.

Detour due to a total blockade of the B 120 near Gmunden
Due to a road construction near the inn "Gasthof Rabl" on the B 120 road, this road is closed from Monday, 2nd August 2010 till Friday, 10th September 2010.
Also this year, there is the "Long Night of the Museum", a eventcooperation of the ORF and the Austrian Museum. Saturday, 2nd October 2010 starting at 6:00 p.m. and ending at 1:00 a.m in the morning in Upper Austria and of course also around the lake Traunsee!
"City walks in the footsteps of Johannes of Gmunden". These are guided by Prof. Dr. Rudolf Simek Wednesday in the evening at 08.00 p.m. at the museum K-Hof Museum Gmunden at 14th and 28th of July, 4th and 18th of August and at 22nd of September 2010.
Tradition and innovation is brouht together verbindet by the certified hiking-, alp- and snowshoe guide Axel Wojacek at his offers for guest of the Traunsee Holiday Region as for those of the Salzkammergutes.
The Langbathsee run on 19th September is an event, with which the organizers want to motivate young and also old people practicing sports especially running. It´s not the target to reach the best running time, it´s the target to have fun and the possibility to run together with other people in a beautiful and undistroyed nature.

The far beyond the borders of Altmünster well-known Octoberfestival takes again place this year.
Calm and clear as crystal the lake Traunsee presents itself to his guests. The wind makes the water surface move and it seems as the lake invites the people to jump into the cold and fresh water, hoist the sails or to try something new.

The fun train runs from the town square along the "Esplanade" to the famous castle "Seeschloss Ort" all 40 minutes and passing by the big "Toscana" parking place, where you can park your car, and then back to the town centre.
